Under the aegis of Vraja Shringar another initiative taken up by Hare Krishna Movement Vrindvan was the environment and eco preservation Yamuna Seva program, wherein the Hare Krishna Movement Vrindavan had teamed up with, Friends of Vrindavan a NGO serving in Vrindavan. Both of them together were involved in cleaning the banks of the Yamuna river from the famed Keshi Ghat to Dev Varaha Baba Ghat. Garbage, plastic refuse, remnants of bodies burnt on the banks of Yamuna etc. are all collected and disposed in a proper manner. This garbage pose not only an environment hazard but also a health hazard for the people in the vicinity of this area. The aquatic life forms also face a threat due to these refuse materials. Hare Krishna Movement’s sensitivity towards the preservation of the environment and eco life coupled with the zealousness of Friends of Vrindavan has led to a very successful & sustained effort in this direction.
