Vrindavan is the most prominent of the towns in the district of Mathura but the name Vrindavan has become synonymous with the entire Braj mandala area in which Lord Krishna performed His pastimes. The entire Braj region attracts huge number of tourists throughout the year.

Butsadly, the infrastructure in Mathura, Vrindavan and Govardhan and other parts of Braj are yet to catch up with the burgeoning tourist influx which is increasing year on year. Besides Vrindavan and Govardhan there are other smaller but equally important towns like Radha Kund, Varshana, Gokul which also attract sizeable number of devotees and huge influx on special days during the year.

Other places of Braja are Govardhan with a population of 22576 (census 2011), Radha Kund with a population of 5884(census 2001). Barsana, Population-9,960 (census 2001)
These places need huge facelift. The civic amenities must be improved to a major extent.The sewerage system needs to be improved as currently most of roads are flanked by open drains for clearing the effluents from residential and commercial establishment. The smaller lanes are not cleaned regularly and there is no proper garbage dumping system. The town also needs to establish and maintain large number good public toilets and convenience facilities to ensure that the huge influx of pilgrims are serviced.
Hare Krishna Movement Vrindavan shall be actively involved in supporting various authorities that a visitor gets to see and clean and green Vrindavan and thus will truly appreciates its pristine glory. It envisions to take up be regular cleaning of many important lanes of Vrindavan and other areas of Braj. Besides it will also aid the authorities in establish and maintain public convenience facilities like toilets and other support infrastructure for tourists.
