It is estimated that over 20000 widows are residing in Vrindavan. Seeking to live the fag end of their lives thinking of Lord Krishna visiting His temples in His holy abode. Unfortunately most of them do not have access to basic necessities of life due varied unfortunate circumstances. They are forced to beg and from that meagre earning try to maintain themselves. Maitrian humanitarian and developmental NGO which has many initiatives all over India. In Vrindavan and Radha Kund it has opened very nice facilities to give shelter and care to widows of Vrindavan. Hare Krishna Movement Vrindavan has partnered with Maitrighar to provide wholesome nutritious lunch to them. The meal consists of Chapati(Roti), Sabji, Rice and Dhal. Sweets are also provided on festival days.
